ANAÏS HORN

Anaïs Horn, nata a Graz (AT), vive e lavora tra Parigi e la Lunigiana (IT). La sua pratica multidisciplinare attraversa fluidamente diversi media, creando ambienti intimi e spesso site-specific. Il suo lavoro esplora la tensione tra presenza e assenza, dove narrazioni personali — frammenti autobiografici, riti di passaggio o biografie di figure storiche (femminili) — si trasformano in riflessioni più ampie sull’esistenza contemporanea e sul modo in cui la memoria e la (sua) storia / le storie riecheggiano attraverso la presenza spettrale di oggetti e spazi. Horn introduce frequentemente elementi di illusione e mistero, collocando il proprio lavoro in uno spazio intermedio, sospeso tra realtà e immaginazione.

Con una formazione in design e letteratura, Horn si è diplomata presso la Friedl Kubelka School di Vienna nel 2015. Nel 2022 ha co-fondato la casa editrice Drama Books e, nel 2023, lo spazio indipendente gestito da artisti Cabanon.

Tra le sue recenti mostre personali e a due figurano: Camera Austria, Fotohof, MLZ Art Dep, Galeria RGR, Sophie Tappeiner, NADA Projects, Easter, kunstGarten, Paris Photo, MiArt, FLUCA, la National Library of Kosovo e una prossima mostra personale presso l’Austrian Cultural Forum New York prevista per aprile 2026.

Anaïs Horn, born in Graz (AT), lives and works in Paris and Lunigiana (IT). Her multidisciplinary practice moves fluidly across media, creating intimate, often site-specific settings. Her work traces the tension between presence and absence, where personal narratives—autobiographical fragments, rites of passage or the biographies of historical (female) figures—evolve into broader reflections on contemporary existence and how memories and (her)story/stories echo through the spectral presence of objects and spaces. She frequently introduces elements of illusion and mystery, situating her work within a space of the in-between.

With a background in design and literature, Horn graduated from the Friedl Kubelka School, Vienna, in 2015. In 2022 she co-founded the publishing house Drama Books, and in 2023, she co-founded the artist-run space Cabanon in Paris.
